When it comes to making your wedding your own, there is no question: Amy and Tom understood the brief. From the first day I met them, they told me they wanted a wedding that just celebrate who they are as a couple, not take themselves too seriously, and have a good time with their friends and family. Definitely sounded like my kind of wedding.
Amy and Tom met at what has got to be one of the most questionable pubs in Hampshire (and I'm sad to admit I went a lot back in the day). Tom was immediately smitten with Amy (with a singing voice like hers it is, admittedly, quite hard not to be). Tom had also happened to have driven to the pub in his prize possession: his big purple box car. When driving away from the pub (with Amy watching on) he revvvvvvvvvvved his gear box and drove away with an insane amount of noise. When he got home, he began to worry Amy might have thought he was rude or showing off (were you not thought Tom?) and sent her a message.
The rest, as they say, is history.
Amy now has a box car of her own. 3 house rabbits that Tom swore they'd never get, with.a love of cowboys and country music, and monthly trips to classic car shows.
And it was so awesome to see, at their wedding, how much they made it their own.
On their big day,. Amy wore cowboy boots from dawn to dusk, and they both donned cowboy hats for their first dance - which actually happened to be a square dance. Of course their cars were a big part of the day, with a special request for a kiss outside their cars at the reception. Tom even built a mini electric model of his car to drive the rings down the aisle. I will never forget the best man making the most corny joke in history: 'I've left the rings in the car'.
On top of their wedding cake sat their three bunnies and a hay bail. Their name pieces were actually mini cowboy hats that held the name of their guests, with their center-pieces being records of their favourite country singers.
All in all, this is the kind of thing I love. Seeing personality all over a wedding like this is incredibly special, and I was so glad to be a part of it.
