If you're a big halloween fan, there's a chance you might pick a wedding date in October. If you really like Halloween, there's a chance you'll search for a wedding venue with a little history and mystery surrounding it.
You get all this, and more, at the Ettington Park Hotel.
Located in Stratford-Upon Avon, the UK's no.1 town for ghost stories (and Shakespeare, yes I know!), this weird and wonderful venue has a claim to fame that not many know about, and is not the usual number 1 choice for choosing a wedding venue.
Well team, there is a genuine witch grave in the grounds of this hotel.
Surrounded by spikes, next to an incredible old abbey ruin, you can visit the witch herself, who has been surrounded by chains and fencing to ensure her evil does not escape and ruin your wedding day.
Stacey is a huge fan of halloween. Not only were their pumpkins and hay bales as far as the eye could see, Stacey made everything herself. She's also a huge Disney fan, so there were lots of hidden Mickey's about.
Stacey and Gary have two amazing kids. Tabs was super excited to spend the day in a gorgeous dress and celebrating Mum and Dad. Ali I was warned would not like me at all - and he didn't when we first met. By the speeches I'd won him over, and we spent most of the evening dancing (or rather, he ran literal rings around me).
It was honestly the most unusual cake I have ever seen. It looked like it was made from wood, surrounded by little pumpkins which were actually balls of cake (and there is something super satisfying about eating balls of cake). The decorator had even 'carved' the initials of Stacey, Gary and their kids into the 'wood' of the cake. Really cool.
Oh, and the most special thing for me. About 3 days before the wedding, Stacey rang me saying she really didn't like the music she was walking down the aisle to - and could I 'throw together' a Disney piano medley for her. 24 hours later, a prime delivery of a microphone, and a load of wrong notes...Stacey walked down the aisle to me playing the piano...one of the most moving moments of my life.
